OFFICER IN TRAINING
I had to train with my head that's smooth
But most of all with mouth that is mute
A way to teach me how to endure
And discipline did this ensure.
I longed to see my cropped hair grow
That's why I chose the middle row
And this is called the center rank
Where one has a chance to play a prank.
For countless nights I missed my sleep
For pace with work I must keep
When this I saw as mere routine.
The food I ate would sore the eye
I thought my time was up to say goodbye
I saw myself trapped in a cage
But now I know it's just a stage.
